This photo was taken last April at the Celebrate Life Fashion Show that my local Canadian Cancer Society puts on. I was honoured to be one of the models. All models are cancer survivors and when we each walk down the runway (very scary by the way)…. each of our individual cancer journeys are shared with the audience. It was such a beautiful night. I felt so great and this photo was taken just six weeks after my third operation. My doctor cautioned me to take recovery easy, but the only way I know how to heal is to keep on moving, so when I was asked to model, I didn’t hesitate. I recovered quickly and felt like I was on top of the world and that this cancer thing was history. Pictured here with me are two of my biggest cheerleaders keeping me anchored here on earth, my Mom and my sister. They looked so pretty that night. My sister bought me the shiny top that I am wearing. She calls it my Va Va Voom top.
